koinoniaKoinonia is the Greek word used in the New Testament to denote community. But community is not just coming to services once a week, singing songs, and listening to a minister preach.

Community is group life. Community is each one of us making sure that every part of the body of Christ (people you are in community with) is encouraged and cared for. We may not live near each other but nowadays there are many ways to get in touch with and help each other in our journey.

It is in koinonia, everyday life, and the common (koine) things we do everyday with each other (perhaps share coffee or a meal) that we can encounter Jesus. By sharing struggles and joys with each other, we begin to see Jesus in our daily lives.
